WEDNESDAY is a short film about suffering, an exploratory insight into how certain people ‘knuckle under’ when subject to abuse, offering hope in the way many can stand up to such injustice.
After discovering that his girlfriend has been unfaithful with his best friend, Eric Miller has sunk into the depths of despair – selfishly dragging down both his single mother and little brother with him. When his mother dares to suggest he take a walk to clear his head, Eric storms out and finds himself on a path along the canal. He encounters a nameless eccentric woman that he labels as ‘Wednesday’. They walk together – no questions and no answers, just a cathartic flushing of their troublesome lives. This becomes a ritual, so that every Wednesday at the same time they meet.
